My Unique Study Experience in Estonia !!!

 Something about Estonia?

Estonia is found in northeastern Europe by the Baltic Sea and offers beautiful woodland and lake landscapes together with a rapidly evolving innovative economy and industry. In other words, a great setting for modern post graduate education.

Every year, Estonia offers several number of scholarships for young civil servants and diplomats to study at the Estonian School of Diplomacy (ESD)

This year I am one of four students from Republic of Moldova, who won the scholarship for 2012-2013 study course at ESD. My studies started in september  this year and I am already enjoying my studies.

Last year in Moldova I was working at the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Moldova, as the Head Counsellor of International Relations Service, where I got great experience in the field of cooperation and negociation with my colleagues from other countries. I was delegated several times as the head of national delegation in diverse international youth events, congresses, conferences, seminars and initiatives of European Union, especially in the subject of Eastern Partnership Youth Cooperation initiatives and new lunched projects. In one year i visited almost 12 countries, meet peoples from around 100 countries, and made new international friends.

What were my previous studies?

In Moldova I studied at Moldova State University, Faculty of International Relations, Political Science and Public Administration, I was specialized on Diplomatic and European Studies. My Master Thesis subject was : ,, State building and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova” As European Integration is very important  and it is the main priority of my country. My previous studies were at Free International University from Moldova, Faculty of History and International Relations.

Why I chouse Estonia?

Frankly speaking, I heard about Etonia from one estonian international youth exchange participant, we were involved in international youth in action project . We were members of the same task group and we had to hold a pressentation of each of our own country, so we decided to present Estonia and Moldova together, we made an amazing presentation on how an estonian man will be living in Moldova. It was amazing. During the presentation I found out some interesting facts on Estonia, as it is the smallest of the three Baltic countries situated in Northern Europe. Due to its location, the country has often been regarded as a bridge between the East and the West. Its population is modest - only 1.3 million people live there but, still the nation is very innovative and technologically advanced. I found out that free wireless Internet is a "human right" in Estonia, and even in some forests you will find WiFi.

I am proud that from Almost 70,000 students currently study at Estonian universities, I am one of them, and i belive it will be a great student experience for me and it will help me in my future development and maybe to become a future Ambassador of Moldova to Estonia.

Why Estonian School of Diplomacy?

This School is already famouse one, at least in Moldova there are a lot of people who heard something good about this School. Also from the begining I was searching for Alumni of this School, and I found some of them. They were so excited to hear again about this great school and they told me this was the best study experience they ever had in their lives. Also they told me that this school prepares the best future Ambasadors, and it is true because we already have at least one of Alumni from this school who is now the Ambassador of Moldova to Estonia, His Excellency Mr.Victor GUZUN.

I hope also that my studies at Estonian School of Diplomacy will be a great experience for me and it will be a bridge for my personal and profesional development. So I will return back home in Moldova with a lot of experience, good case practice and ideas to share and implement in my country.
