Visit to the European Commission Representation in Estonia


On the 28th of January the students from the Estonian School of Diplomacy visited the European Commission Representation in Estonia. At the begining of the event the Head of Mission welcomed the participants and introduced the main areas of EU Commission Representation daily work. Subsequently, the European Commission Representation in Estonia Information Adviser Mr.Erkki Bahovski started his presentation on historical perspective of citizenship,  structured overview of the evolution of the European Union and its form in modern times. Special attention was paid to the features of 2013, the European Year of Citizens, which is dedicated to the rights of the EU citizenship. After the presentation took place a question-and-answer and discussion session, during which time he answered several questions,  several of them were on important issues of the EU affairs today. 
Mr. E. Bahovski described the options of EU as a federal model, and the possible future of the EU as a Federation of States. At the same time he also analyzed the impact of the EU's internal policy and the future of the EU.  It was a great practical experience and we, the participants of this visit got new experience of the EU affairs today and the perspectives for tomorrow.
